Feature Overview
Digital TV and Radio Receiver
With the ReelBox PVR 1100 you can choose from thousands of digital TV and radio channels. Extremely fast switching makes channel hopping a pleasure. Choose from three models: PVR 1100 S (for satellite), PVR 1100 C (for cable) and PVR 1100 T (for terrestrial). You can even receive encrypted channels! The PVR 1100 S is equipped with two CI module slots and a Smartcard slot. It comes with an integrated FreeX module. The Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) allows you to view the current programme at a glance and offers detailed information about individual programmes and broadcasts. Channel lists can be edited directly on the PVR 1100, via remote control or at the PC (software for Windows and Linux). Teletext can be displayed using the integrated software decoder or via the TV set decoder. You control the programmes that your children are allowed to watch. The ReelBox PVR 1100 parental lock can be based on channels and broadcast times.

Personal Video Recorder (PVR)
The twin tuner can process two transponders at the same time. This enables you to record one program while watching another. Programmes can be paused by the press of a button — and then seamlessly resumed thanks to intelligent Reel time shifting. A recording can be started instantly, by the timer or through the EPG — usually just by pressing a button! The editing functions can be used to remove scenes from recordings or to join two separate recordings. Recordings can be stored on the hard disc (to be installed as an upgrade), on Firewire mass storage or on the network.

DVD Player
The PVR 1100 media centre is capable of high quality playback of all standard formats: DVD, Super Video CD (SVCD), Video CD (VCD), Audio CD, MP3 CD and JPEG CD. Recordable media are also supported: CD-R(W), DVD-R(W) and DVD+R(W). Audio and video can be freely combined. For example, combine your favourite MP3s with a JPEG slide show or with the visualization plugin. The CD player supports the CDDB CD database. Grab audio CDs at 3x to 5x speed.

Networking and Internet
Use the PVR 1100 media center to access shared files on your PC. Supported formats are JPEG, PNG, BMP, MPEG-1/2/4/DivX, MP2, MP3 and others. Use your PC for editing and playing your recordings. Plug a DSL modem into the Fast Ethernet port to connect the ReelBox PVR 1100 media centre directly with the Internet! While you are on the road you can control the ReelBox PVT 1100 through its web interface*, to use functions such as programming the timer for a recording. You can do this from an Internet Café, but also from a Notebook or PDA with HTML support. (* This requires a connection to the Internet.) Install software updates, new skins, themes and extensions for your ReelBox PVR 1100 media centre.

Interfaces for Digital and Analogue Devices
3 USB ports are available for keyboard, mouse and joystick (2 on front, 1 on back). Additionally, 3 ports are available for IEEE 1394 mass storage devices and MP3 players (1 on front, 2 on back). A headphone jack is accessible from the front. Digitize your precious video and audio material from your analogue video or audio cassette recorder in realtime using MPEG-1/2/4 compression or MP2 and MP3 encoding. The media centre is equipped with numerous analogue inputs and outputs: Audio (Stereo, 5.1), Video (Composite, S-Video, RGB/YUV) and two SCART connectors. The Ethernet port (100 MBits) can be used to archive the digitized audio and video material on the PC. Music from Minidisc and DAT can be encoded via the digital audio input (S/PDIF) as MP2 or MP3. The coaxial and optical S/PDIF outputs support Dolby Digital. View pictures from your digital camera — with the flashcard/microdrive reader. The HF modulator enables you to connect multiple TV sets to the PVR 1100 media centre.
